good afternoon guys I'm de Grasse and this is what's coming up Captain Tom's a chart topper and we go behind the scenes at Edinburgh Zoo [Music] but first up this morning captain Tom Moore has become the oldest person ever to have a number-
one single in the UK charts at the pretty impressive age of 99 captain Tom who has already raised millions for the NHS with his challenge to walk a hundred laps of his garden has now got a hit single as well his version of you'll never walk alone with this singer Michael ball went straight to the top and with his birthday on Thursday it will mean he'll still be at the top of the charts when he turns up 100 here's the moment when he found out I just need to say congratulations because you are the UK's official number one what advice can you give to people that are a little bit worried at the moment in the current circumstances things will get better there's no doubt there will be one day where things get better and rather was the song which we're talking about when the Sun will shine again and we will never walk alone now one person who's especially proud of captain tom is his grandson Benji Ricky caught up with him last night to find out what it's like Avonlea granddad with the hit single so Benji your granddad is number one in the charts he is the oldest artist to have a number one and I think it's the quickest or fastest selling single of 2020 how does that feel a neat squad believe frankly I think especially for them sitting in this position here watching him set this chair seeing he's number one as an artist he's got something to worry about and it's just incredible how this has happened like the British public has been incredible with doing this speak in the weekend do a leaper even drank did you ever think your grandpa won't be number one dart apparatus in the charts I mean Drake watch out he's coming for more is it good yeah I mean all these artists are incredible and this is for a good cause so I hope you understand and they've been amazing sport and this must this has kept you in business I may it be 5:00 a.

weights every day which is litter pain but it's also amazing and this is I said it in a speech the other day they'll be coming out this is a snapshot in our history that we really can't overlook and being able to share this experience with everyone it's probably the most humbling bit about it I laughing up to share at my school mates and just people who I've known for years and that they're all involved in it and could say oh I know captain Tom Moore and it's just amazing for them and it's amazing to me so it's been a humbling experience thankful that Benji and a massive congrats to captain Tom now it's Saturday and you could be missing your footie action the Premier League haven't been suspended since March due to the corona virus but the government is to set is to set to host a series of meetings in a bid to get football and other major sports back in action as soon as possible the government health officials and the heads of sports are all set to discuss a plan to get sports of back up and running clubs would have to meet criteria insuring the safety of all players and staff and it's likely Premier League matches would be played behind closed doors at first if the meetings are successful it's hoped that sport might be able to restart within the next few weeks now you might not be able to visit a zoo right now but we can bring you the next best thing the keepers at Edinburgh Zoo have been doing some filming to show us how the animals there are coping with the lockdown while many of us are getting into the groove of self isolation at home these animals at Edinburgh Zoo are having some fun of their own there are over two and a half thousand animals in this zoo and they all seem to be having a whale of a time even though the zoo has been closed to the public for a few weeks these penguins still need a helping hand so one of the first things that we have to do is check on all our penguins and make okay far as I know there are no known cases of chimpanzees hacking coronavirus and but they are they are susceptible to things like the flu so easing feelings don't want to take that fun and social isolation isn't a problem for young one pandas are actually animals that spend most of their time alone so it seems like everyone is enjoying the peace and quiet for now I love a good animal story now it wouldn't be the weekend without some of the strangest news take it away Shaniqua there's been some strange goings-on recently in space a meteor shower the library tower peaked on Tuesday and Wednesday with up to 20 fireballs an hour to us that's just streaks like shooting stars but pretty awesome more the same back down to earth and there have been some more animal antics on the ground this goose laid some eggs in a flower bed in York train station it was so quiet she must have thought she was out in the country there was a wild pig chase in Connecticut in America where police took 45 minutes to catch this speedy porker and these sheep were upset that McDonald's was closed they even queued for ages as well strange days indeed see ya thanks Nico now right before we go don't forget is world penguin day oh yes and on the website we've got a mega penguin quiz for you to try to go take a look we're back with more at two o'clock I'll see you later guys bye you.
